Here the green colour shows selection; Sce. Means Scenario;
Strike Rate – It is the %age of correct answers out of the questions attempted.
Observations:
It is really difficult to crack the exam with a strike rate of 70% or less. The above matrix clearly shows that the students must attempt questions which they are confident of.
With a high Strike Rate of 85% (or above) you can qualify even after attempting 100 questions out of 200.
With the student aware of his/ her strike rate can figure out the number of questions he/ she has to target to get qualified.
As there is cut-off for individual sections (6, 27 & 27 for General Ability Test, Basic Engineering & Specialization respectively) so students must make sure that they divide their time and number of questions attempted among the three sections judiciously.
While preparing the students must focus on the following topics in the II & IIIrd part.
Basic Engineering – The most important sections in this part are Electronics Devices and Circuits & Digital Techniques which constitute around 60-70% of questions. Around 10 - 12% questions are asked on Applied Mathematics and Basic Electricity each.

Specialization – The most important sections in this part are
Computer & Electrical (in that order) which constitute around 60-65% of questions. Other important topics constituting 5-8% questions each are Communication, Control Systems and Microprocessors.
